Ecosophian Convention, 6-8 June 2025
Firstly, welcome to all new subscribers - it’s quite encouraging to have had a steady trickle of newcomers even while I’ve been sabbaticalizing. Some of you might have been wondering what I’ve been up to. Is he dead? Did he go trans? DID HE JOIN THE ORDER OF NINE ANGLES???
You’ll be relieved to learn the answer is none of the above, and is really nothing more dramatic than a lot of work, both of the ‘boring’, economically productive kind, and of the more interesting ‘inner’ kind. At the turn of the new year, a rather jolting set of experiences alerted me to the urgency of taking control of my life, integrating my psyche, and maximising my physical and spiritual health.
I will return to writing and podcasting, in due course, but probably with more of a focus on these internal topics than my previous work. In the meantime, I’m very pleased to announce that I will be speaking at the Ecosophian Convention in Glastonbury next month, alongside John Michael Greer and many other familiar faces.
My talk, entitled ‘The Betrayal of the Lawful Sovereign’, discusses an archetypal pattern found across Indo-European mythologies (and, indeed, beyond), with primary reference to Celtic myth of Lleu Llaw Gyffes, and the Norse myth of Balder. I hope to see some of you there.
