Our current predicament reminds me that the root of the word 'war' derives it's meaning from words used to describe 'confusion'
The English word war derives from the 11th-century Old English words wyrre and werre, from Old French werre (also guerre as in modern French), in turn from the Frankish *werra, ultimately deriving from the Proto-Germanic *werzō 'mixture, confusion'
Good to read a sane account from the country formerly known as the UK. The US dissident media is full of "talking back" to Keir Starmer, & while the man does seem loathsome (why do they still call it the Labour Party, when clearly he despises working class people as subhuman troglodytes? Shouldn't it be the Privileged Class Party? Or the I Worship Davos Party?), that talk back is utterly useless as well as childish. Someone needs to more intelligently point out the flaws in his strategy but then, it does seem as though the chaos was a planned result.
And I forgot to mention - yes - I am torn between being glad Peter Thiel is financing right wing opponents to our own Davos-Democratic Party figures, and knowing the man's company Palantir is frighteningly invasive, and he's on record saying he believes in a neo-feudal future. Didn't he have a bunker built in New Zealand or something?
It's the same with Musk. I enjoy watching him use his wealth and influence to humiliate the Starmer regime, but to what ends? And why hasn't he given the Israeli govt the same treatment, for example?
