Love his characterization of identity politics, which I loathe, because it does exactly reinforce neoliberal relations & has nothing to do with subverting the power structure.

Thanks - do you mean my description of it as utterly perfect for our selfish left-liberal elite? They love identity politics because it allows for endless fabrication of victim status and is focused on their favourite thing - themselves. As you say, it is also an utter distraction (diversion) from real injustices and unfairness.

Yes. That is what I meant. It serves their interests perfectly. I felt this intuitively on my own for years, until during the pandemic, I read the retired professor Adolph Reed and the Luxembourg-based American writer, Rhyd Wildermuth (one black, one white) and their articulation of this view. The sad truth is here in US, many young, disenfranchised people, white, black, gay, straight, buy into it blindly.

I've found (through teaching) many young people see through all this, though they need encouraging to have the courage of their convictions. You may be interested in a series of articles I'm doing on my time teaching!

Good to know, and if I have time (I am swamped with my own reading on political censorship & a variety of subjects! not to mention life) I will look the series up ... Perhaps young people in UK are less indoctrinated in the ideology of liberal Democrat society than they are here (disclaimer: I once believed in the virtuosity of the D Party myself when young, till life showed me its hypocrisy).

Thank you for making your podcast downloadable! I listen to these while smithing in the forge. I get turned off by other podcasts who don't do that.

Keep up the good work!

Every time you turn on your TV you are to one degree or another being subject to though control and/or being quite literally brain washed )zombified).

TV is the most effective thought control brain-washing device ever invented. The "culture" created by it now patterns and controls the minds, emotions and bodies of most people on the planet. At any one time 24/7 how many billions of human beings are watching TV!

This essay describes the situation:
