Thank you for a very insightful and enjoyable conversation. I find it interesting that you discuss much of what I am currently pondering. I've been a seeker of truth all my life and have been down so many rabbit holes. More recently, with introspection, I've come to the conclusion that it is all theatre and that the only sensible thing to do is to sit back and observe the show with curiosity and equanimity. Anyhow, it is so heartening to listen to two voices of reason and for that I thank you.

Sounds like a fun event you're undertaking in Galicia. I would consider attending if I didn't live across the Atlantic. Main draw for me would be hanging out and working with you gents. Getting together for any real, concrete and constructive task goes a long way to form bonds of friendship.

The techno-optimism of those who distrust gov't/the system is rooted in a deep belief in the myth of Progress. From that viewpoint, it's that we're on the wrong path of Progress, and we need to switch it by having the right people in power. Breaking away from that myth and its civil religion is something I went through over ten years ago, and at the time I thought I was an atheist! Many, many people are still under its sway I think because it's an unexamined belief, as it was for me.

Lots of v interesting ideas in this discussion. Keep it up!

Great interview. I think that what Jasun describes at the beginning as a "conspiratorial mindset" comes down to how much one trusts the System. I'm the same, in many respects, and tend to react to these public spectacles with immediate suspicion. Ironically, whilst this might invite accusations of paranoia those with the greatest conspiratorial mindsets of all are the ones hatching them. Regarding the Trump assassination, the iconic photos that invariably end up on the front of Rolling Stone magazine, or which are said to define a certain period of history, were once a consequence of a photographer being in the right place at the right time. The same can't be said for what happened at the Trump rally, as everything was strategically arranged before the eyes of the world and when the orange-headed shyster got to his feet and raised a fist in what has since become another iconic image it looked to me like a very cheap and nasty version of those rare photo opportunities. The positioning, the movement, the outcome... everything was far too perfect from the perspective of those intending to cast Trump as a threat to the Establishment.

This conversation came just at the right time! Really insightful and reassuring. Navigating the modern landscape is a constantly emerging novel experience. You're right, a return to the physical earth is the only return to reality. It seems to be an ever retreating possibility for most people in the modern world. One of these days I'll visit your Garden of Eden. Thanks for the company gents. Much love yo you both ❤️
